Today we're taking a look at an adapter that allows us to switch a goose neck style trailer over to a fifth wheel with a king pin, so it'll work in our fifth wheel hitch. Now, a lot of times customers ask for products like this basically because maybe all through the week you're having a goose neck utility trailer for work, but then on the weekend you've got a fifth wheel camper you like to head out with.Maybe you've got a goose neck horse trailer and a fifth wheel camper and you want to be able to haul them both without going through the entire process of removing your fifth wheel and then placing in some kind of x plate adaptor or something along those lines. This is going to allow yo to switch your goose neck coupler out.Now, this has been designed to work and slide into most of your four inch round style goose neck couplers. It has a pin that goes through just like a goose neck coupler and a set screw here. The plate itself side to side is going to be nine and seven eighths of an inch. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Reese Goose Box Fifth-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter, for the Lippert 1621 pin boxes. It has a 16,000 pound weight capacity. Now this unique coupler will let you tow your fifth-wheel trailer with your gooseneck hitch. The Goose Box will replace the standard pin box on your fifth-wheel trailer and this is an air ride equipped pin box to ensure that there's less stress put on your trailer's frame than is typical with the traditional kingpin adapters. Today we're gonna take a look at the ranch hitch universal 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck straight coupler adapter. This heavy duty adapter will convert your 5th-wheel trailer kingpin to a gooseneck coupler, so it conveniently allows your 5th-wheel camping trailer to be towed with a gooseneck hitch. The adapter here will bolt to your kingpin on your 5th-wheel pin box, and it attaches to the gooseneck cup for in your truck.This part will include everything we've got laid out here on the table. The straight adapter with the remote cable latch and bracket attached; the threaded collar assembly, right up here at the top you can see, here's the threaded collar; and then you'll notice there's two split collar halves that'll go in there, this is what'll go around your kingpin on your pin box; it comes with a spanner wrench that is used to tighten this up to your threaded on and tighten it up to your pin box; and all the mounting hardware you need to install it, and a nice installation manual that'll describe how to install everything and how everything operates.The remote coupler release right here, this is what'll let you engage and release the coupler while standing alongside your truck, so it eliminates having to climb in and out of your truck bed to release it. Basically, there's a pin right in here, so when you pull this handle open, that pin'll slide across, allow it to drop you onto the gooseneck ball. Once it drops on the gooseneck ball, you push that into place, that pin'll slide across and lock it into place. more

This will decrease both your vertical shock, which is the bounce up and down, and the longitudinal shock which is your chucking back and forth.This does limit the strain on your truck and trailer frames, the airbag on the inside can be adjusted to give you just the right amount of support. Right here, this opening, this is your air inflation indicator, and when this shows all black like it is now, that means it has low air pressure.Now, you put your air in your airbag right back here where the air valve is. more

Mechanic: Today we're gonna take a look at the B&W Companion Dual Jaw Fifth Wheel cover hitch with the slider and a 20,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this Companion fifth wheel hitch will utilize the B&W turnover ball under-bed mounting system, and that system is a gooseneck hitch that's mounted under your truck bed. This companion fifth wheel hitch has a center post right down here, and that center post will install into the gooseneck ball opening of that under-bed system, and then sit on your truck bed without using any rails that are attached to the truck bed. So, this will allow you tow a fifth wheel by using your turnover ball gooes neck hitch, and this hitch can be removed for a nice clean bed with no rails, and since you have no mounting rails, that means using your truck for more than just towing. Has this built in slider, which will provide clearance, 12 inches, front to back, which is required for your short bed truck to turn safely at slow speeds. It will automatically latch in both directions, so you only get out of the truck once to move it into the maneuvering position. The head has one inch thick dual jaws. more

Today we'll be taking a look at the B and W Companion Gooseneck and 5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part number BWRVK3500. This 5th-wheel companion is going to be great for hooking up any 5th-wheel trailers that you may have. Also, if you have gooseneck trailers it still works great, because this goes into gooseneck rails that you can use the gooseneck ball with. What's really nice about this 5th-wheel companion is that you can completely remove it from the bed, so when you take it out, you've got full bed access and there are no cross rails left behind. It features a dual-jaw design that's going to give you 360 degrees of coverage around your kingpin. Unlike slide-bar jaws, the rounded two-piece jaw on this 5th-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement, while securely wrapping around your trailer's kingpin, resulting in easier hookup, and a safer, quieter ride. In order to operate those dual jaws, you simply remove the pin from the handle here, then this handle is a cam-action so as you pull the handle back, it's going to open up the jaws so you can slide your kingpin in. more

Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter Review- Video
Today we're going to be reviewing the Curt X5 gooseneck to 5th wheel rails adapter plate, part number C16210. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. It's a nice black carbide finish that's going to protect against rust and corrosion to make it last a long time. This adapter plate is ready for 20,000 pounds of gross trailer weight, and 4,000 pounds of tongue weight. It's a simple pin and clip installation for the 5th wheel hitches that include multiple mounting points to accept either a 5th wheel with legs, or a 5th wheel with a roller. Another nice feature about this adapter is that you can use it with just about anyone's 5th wheel hitches that fit on rails. Where some of the plates require you to use their brand of hitch, just check the weight ratings and make sure they are the same or less. more

Now, we'll go ahead and pull the handle out and put it in the locked position so it's locked open. We can then install the Gooseneck ball into the receiver head. Put the ball into position. We can release the handle, locking the ball in place. Now, when we're not using the Gooseneck ball, we can go ahead and pull the handle out. more

This Underbed Kit can be used with the Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter by replacing the hitch ball with the 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch such as part number BWRVK3500. Now, we can go over operation of our new Gooseneck hitch and ball. To install our Gooseneck ball, well simply pull out on the hitch handle, rotating it towards the cab of the pickup to lock the pin out so we can then take the ball and drop it into the throat of the Gooseneck hitch. Then to release the handle, well simply rotate it towards the rear of the vehicle and the spring pressure will close the pin on the Gooseneck ball.Once were finished using our new Gooseneck ball, well simply pull the handle on the pin again, locking out the hitch pin, taking the ball out, turning it over, and putting it back down into the throat of the Gooseneck hitch and releasing the handle, locking the pin back in position and locking the ball in the stored position.To begin our install, well first go ahead and lower and remove the spare tire and remove both rear wheels. While its not a requirement, it will give us a lot more working room and make an easier install. more

5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2007 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to be installing the BMW Custom Under-bed Installation Kit for BMW companion 5th wheel trailer hitches. Part number: BWGNRK1108-5W. The BMW Companion Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, Part number: BWRVK3500 is designed to be used with BMWs custom under-bed installation kits for companion 5th wheel trailer hitches. Before we begin our install, we'll go ahead and go over the operation of the hitch. Simply pull here on the driver's side rear well and rotate it forward. This will lock the pin in the open position, we'll take the ball, align it up with the hole here, we'll slide it in place, we'll then release the handle in the driver's side rear well, securing the ball in place. When you're not using the ball simply pull the handle out, secure it into the unlocked position, you then take the ball out, and flip it over and drop it back down into the hitch. Once that's done you release the handle in the rear well securing the ball back in the hitch. Here's both of our safety chain loops, you'll notice that they are spring-loaded from the springs we put on underneath so they'll pull back down. Simply raise them up and hook your safety chain to it, and now we'll go ahead and begin our install. We're going to begin our installation by first lowering and setting the spare tire out of the way. more

Today on our 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, we'll be installing the B&W Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, part number BWGNRK1313-5W. The B&W Companion Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part number BWRVK3500, is designed to be used with B&W Custom Underbed Installation Kits for Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. Now before we begin our install, we'll go over the operation of the hitch. To unlatch the pin simply pull here on the driver side wheel well and rotate it forward. This will lock the pin in the open position which will allow you to either insert the ball or flip it over for the storage position. Once you have the ball in place, you'll simply take the handle and release it back all the way in. This will lock the ball in place. Now we can show you how the safety chain loops work. more

B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
All right, today in this 2011 Dodge Ram pickup, 3500 series Crew Cab, we're going to install part number BWRVK3500. We want to make sure we remove the goose neck ball. Now at this point, we can go ahead and start working with our 5th wheel companion hitch. We're going to start off with our hitch partially assembled already. So we just need an extra set of hands to help hold it and put it in the bed of the truck then we'll go ahead and put it into our hitch. When initially in place, we want to make sure that our pads are in a trough of the bed itself. We'll go ahead and tighten down the hardware to secure our pads. Now we're lucky our bolts actually got in a little bit of a bind, so we can just tighten them down from the top. If necessary, you can use a Phillips screwdriver underneath to tighten it into place. Next we'll go ahead and install our pin from underneath. I make sure the pin goes all the way through the hitch and also the 5th wheel companion hitch as well. Now during your assembly of the 5th wheel, these four bolts on each side should be still loose. more
